The plot closely follows Barrie's original work. In dreary London at the turn of the 20th century, Wendy Darling (Rachel Hurd-Wood), a young girl on the cusp of adolescence, tells her younger brothers fantastical stories of adventure. One night, she and her brothers are visited by the mischievous and eternally young Peter Pan (Jeremy Sumpter), who has lost his shadow. After reattaching it with the help of the feisty fairy Tinker Bell (Ludivine Sagnier), Peter teaches the children to fly and whisks them away to the magical island of Neverland.
