When you download a highly compressed PS2 ROM from the internet, it usually arrives in a .7z (7-Zip) or .rar format. These tools analyze the entire ISO file and replace repeating patterns of data with much smaller placeholders. ps2 iso roms highly compressed

To load a compressed game in PCSX2, simply add the compressed file (CHD or CSO) to your games folder and use the normal “Boot ISO” option. No extra steps are needed.
Keep in mind that Gzip compression generally saves about 30% of space on average, which is less than what CHD or CSO can achieve.
