While x86 user‑mode applications can be emulated, kernel‑mode drivers, UMDF drivers, and print drivers must match the operating system’s architecture. An x86 application that relies on a driver (e.g., hardware control software, backup tools, virtual disk drivers) will work unless the driver has been recompiled for ARM64.

Look at your running application. It will display one of the following: Native 32-bit ARM execution. ARM64: Native 64-bit ARM execution (Optimal). x86 or x64: Emulated Intel/AMD execution. Method 2: Inspecting the File Header via PowerShell
