Set against the volatile backdrop of 1987, the film follows Kumaresan (Soori), a newly recruited, idealistic police constable. He is assigned to a brutal mission, "Operation Ghosthunt," to capture Perumal Vaathiyar (Vijay Sethupathi), the charismatic leader of a separatist group called the "People's Army". As Kumaresan gets drawn into the operation, he is forced to confront a horrific cycle of state-sponsored violence and oppression. His moral compass is shattered, and he faces an impossible choice: remain loyal to a corrupt system or follow his conscience.
