The story follows Sidhu (played by Akshay Kumar ), a simple, slightly timid street-side cook in Delhi’s famous Chandni Chowk area. He is a firm believer in superstition, astrology, and the supernatural.
His life takes a dramatic turn when two Chinese strangers arrive in Delhi. They believe Sidhu is the reincarnation of Liu Shengh, a legendary Chinese warrior who once protected their village from a tyrannical martial arts villain named Hojo (Gordon Liu). Enticed by the promise of luxury and respect, Sidhu travels to China, completely unaware of the lethal danger awaiting him. Along the way, he crosses paths with Sakhi (Deepika Padukone), an Indian-Chinese tele-shopping executive, and her long-lost twin sister, Suzy, who works for Hojo.
